How does Sunsay work?

Sunsay is the app for couples, especially long distance ones. Every day, one evening question, the same for both of you: you answer separately, in writing or with a voice note, and your answers are revealed once you have both answered. Around it: cards to play together, the photo of the day, your mood and a sweet note, "I miss you" in one tap, the heart to fill, the distance between you and the countdown to your next reunion.

How do I link my other half?

In the app, tap "Invite": Sunsay gives you a code, valid for one hour. Send it to your other half, who enters it under "Got a code?". You are linked: from now on you share the evening question and the cards. Before you link, your answers wait for your other half and reach them as soon as you are linked.

The evening question

A new question arrives every day, at 4 a.m. your time. Answer in writing or with a voice note of up to one minute. Your other half's answer stays locked until you have answered. Once sent, an answer can't be changed. The 8:30 p.m. reminder lets you know if you haven't answered yet; you can turn it off in your Profile.

The cards

In the Cards tab, decks of 20 questions to play whenever you like, just like the evening question. "Just for laughs" is free, the others are part of Sunsay+. "A little spicy" only shows up if this topic was chosen in your couple.

Widgets

Add Sunsay widgets to your home screen or lock screen: your days together, your next reunion, "I miss you", the photo of the day, your other half's mood, the heart, the time where your other half is and the distance between you. The distance widget is part of Sunsay+.

The alarm, on iPhone

On iPhone (iOS 26 or later), Sunsay can also be your alarm. Your other half can slip a voice note into it: their voice wakes you up instead of the ringtone.

Sunsay+

Sunsay+ unlocks every card deck, the distance widget, your whole story and keeps your voice notes. One subscription covers both of you: your other half pays nothing. It is monthly or yearly, with a free trial, and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

How do I cancel Sunsay+?

On iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Sunsay, then "Cancel Subscription". You can also go through your Profile in the app. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.

How do I report content?

On your other half's answer, long press, then tap "Report". You can also report your other half from Profile > My other half. We review every report and remove objectionable content within 24 hours.

How do I unlink my other half?

In Profile > My other half, tap "Unlink". You no longer share your cards or answers, you no longer receive anything from this person, and they are not notified. Linking again would take a new code.

How do I delete my account and data?

In the app, open Profile and tap "Delete my account" at the bottom of the screen. Your account and all your data leave our servers and this phone: your answers, your voice notes, your photo, your alarm. Your bubble with your other half closes. Apple may ask you to confirm your identity. This can't be undone, and your Sunsay+ subscription continues until you cancel it. You can also ask us by email. Details on the Privacy page.

Permissions

Sunsay asks for them when you need them, and all are optional: notifications (the evening question, your other half's answers, "I miss you"), the microphone (for your voice notes), the camera and your photos (for the photo of the day and your profile picture), your approximate location (to show your city and the distance between you, never your exact location), and alarms on iPhone (for the alarm). Sign in with Apple is only used to back up your account. No ads, no ad tracking.

Which platforms?

Sunsay is available on iPhone. The Android version is coming: leave your email and we'll let you know on launch day.
